We have a new trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online, demonstrating how to summon the Dark Anchors.
In Elder Scrolls lore, the Dark Anchors were created by Molag Bal, and brought down to Nim to chain Tamriel with Coldharbour, the plane of Oblivion that Molag rules over. The purpose of the Anchors is to pull Tamriel itself into Coldharbour. Each one of these Anchors are protected by a Daedric Guardian.
As the video demonstrates, the Worm Cult Battlemages go through an elaborate ritual to summon said Anchors. There is human sacrifice, chanting, a lot of hand waving, and sfx worthy a Hollywood blockbuster.
The only reason this matters to you, of course, is because you can take out these Anchors, and defeat Daedric Guardians, too. You find six people like this assembled and trying a similar ritual, you will know they are trying to do one of these. You will need a party (at least two) to deal with the threat, with one to fight enemies and the other to go after the pinions of the Anchors.
The effort will be worth it, as each chain a character and a party destroys nets you reputation bonuses to the Fighters Guild. You will also get extra rewards, such as extra achievements, special cosmetic gear, etc.
Are you curious how taking out an Anchor actually looks like in action? You’re in luck. Check out dev gameplay below.
The Elder Scrolls Online is coming April 4 to Windows, and then June to Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
