Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Features Largest Video Game Orchestra Ever

January 31, 2014 by Josiah Renaudin

The latest vampire-themed title from Konami has a massive score to back it up.

Bigger isn’t always better, but Konami is hoping to capture some massive musical magic with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. The upcoming action title for Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 features the largest orchestra ever used in the production of a video game, brought together to take the flavor of the Castlevania soundtrack to a new extreme.

The above video features Dave Cox, producer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and studio head of European production for Konami Digital Entertainment B.V., as he details the work of composer Oscar Araujo. Araujo is a veteran of the industry and a returning face for this series, so he’s quite a bit familiar with the dark tone of the game.

It might not be coming out on next-generation platforms, but this star-studded project looks to be one of the sharpest pieces of software to launch in the early portion of this year. Look for the game to hit store shelves Feb. 25.
