Square Enix has announced the availability of a demo for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
PS3 gamers will unlock the Utsusemi Garb DLC, which includes the Heavenly Fan weapon and Kaminari (“lightning” in Japanese) shield, for downloading the demo. Players on both systems can earn the Siegfried outfit when the game launches by submitting yout battle score during the final battle against Zaltys.
The demo itself takes place in Snow's Yusnaan Palace and can be played now on Xbox 360 or later today on PS3. European PS3 owners will need to wait for tomorrow when the region's PS Store updates.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is set for release on February 11th in North America and on February 14th in Europe. Square Enix has pushed Lightning's customisation options as a key part of the game and you can check out some of the costumes available in these screenshots.
Lightning has been tasked with saving as many people as possible before the end of the world in 13 days.
