Blizzard is looking for ways to more intelligently add microsotransactions to its flagship product, World of Warcraft. Shockingly, I don’t think paying to boost a character’s level falls under that umbrella.
The massive developer posted on the World of Warcraft blog that in the near future, work will be done to add a feature that lets players purchase an automatic character upgrade to level 90. It’ll likely cost a chunk of change, but Blizzard hasn’t yet commented on the actual price of the upgrade. Of couse, it’ll first have to go through the public test realm before it enters the real thing.
The plan, as of now, is that once you pre-purchase upcoming expansion Warlords of Draenor, you’ll have the option to auto-level one of your characters to 90.
"That's a little different from the plan we laid out at BlizzCon, but based on the feedback, it's obvious that many of you would like the chance to get acquainted with a new class before heading into the expansion," Blizzard said. "This will also give more players the opportunity to experience the current end-game content and the events leading up to Garrosh's exodus to Draenor. Maybe you'll get your Legendary cloak from Wrathion and level 90–100 Heirloom weapon in the process."
As of now, 7.6 million people subscribe to World of Warcraft.
