New Details for Black Tusk Studios’ Xbox One Exclusive Surface

We saw very little from Black Tusk Studios' mystery Xbox One exclusive last year, so any bit of new information is a treat at the moment. So, as you’d guess, a new job advertisement for a lead writer shines about as much new light on the project as anything we’ve heard thus far.

Microsoft is looking to create a new franchise here, with the possibility of it growing to the scale of a Gears of War or Halo. That’s pretty ambitious, but hey, might as well shoot for the stars.

“We are looking for a seasoned storyteller who can help us bring Microsoft’s next big IP to life,” the description reads. “This individual will help us develop the characters, story arc, emotional tone, pacing, dialogue, and flavor of a story that will shape the spirit of this new franchise.

“Reporting to the Narrative Director the Lead Writer is responsible for setting the bar of excellence in script and plot development. The core of this role is to craft an enthralling character-driven story and define how the narrative will be delivered through different game systems.”

Halo 5 is expected to launch this year, so it’s likely that this new Microsoft franchise will be something that comes to life in 2015.
