Metro: Last Light Will Feature Revamped Stealth, Targets High-End PCs

May 31, 2011

In developing Metro: Last Light, 4A Studios is revamping entire gameplay systems, including the stealth, and aiming for ‘high-end PCs’.

Metro: Last Light, the sequel to last year's Metro 2033 planning to usurp the 'high-end FPS' crown currently worn by Crysis 2. At a press conference that Videogamer.com attended, THQ's Huw Beynon, the company wants Last Light to be the "poster child for high-end PCs."

Like its predecessor, Last Light will take place in the ruins of post-apocalyptic Russia, with an entire generation of survivors born and raised within the city's underground railway. Politics, as always, plays a strong role in the development of these post-nuclear societies, pitting man against man against strange beasts, with the elements battering them on all sides.

The new game will address a number of issues in the original game, including a revamping of the stealth system.

THQ and developers 4A Studios will be showing off a demo of the game at the upcoming E3 event in June, which should give onlookers a good idea of what to expect from the full version of the game.

Metro: Last Light is due for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2012
