CD Projekt Red Unveils Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Date

May 5, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Mark your calendars for a big reveal.

Easily one of the most anticipated video game releases for 2020 is CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. We’ve seen teases, trailers and gameplay footage for a few years now and its all leading up the official launch for the game later this year. With that said, this is certainly an unusual time we’re living in right now. A global health pandemic has put most people in quarantine or moving around with extra precautions in hopes of not catching the virus and of course not spreading it around. We’re also seeing several events either get postponed or outright cancelled. That’s also happening with the video game titles we’re expecting to see launch at any given time. The latest being The Last of Us Part 2 which was delayed in order to make sure that units of the game could actually ship into certain markets.

Of course that could have easily meant that Cyberpunk 2077 would have been the next IP to get some type of delay. Fortunately, the development studio feels confident that this game will reach the release date on time despite their employees all working remotely from home. Still, more information is inbound for the game and we usually saw some type of an announcement during E3. They may have been small teasers or gameplay footage showcased behind closed doors for media present, but being that there is not E3 this year could sway CD Projekt Red to make use of online streams.

In fact, it looks like CD Projekt Red is already gearing up to some type of an online event on June 11, 2020. Unfortunately, we don’t know what this means but on the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account, an image was posted stating Night City Wire with June 11, 2020, marked as the date. This could very well be the content CD Projekt Red had planned to unveil during E3 2020 but due to its cancellation, the presentation was reworked to showcase some type of online news broadcast.

While we’re waiting for more information to come out, we did recently find the rating marked for Cyberpunk 2077 and the adult content that would be featured throughout the video game. In the meantime, keep an eye out for more information regarding Night City Wire and prepare for Cyberpunk 2077 video game’s release on September 17, 2020.
