Zombie games aren’t going anywhere, as long as they keep selling as well as Bohemia Interactive's open-world survival game DayZ Standalone. It took just a single day for the Steam Early Access product to generate $5.1 Million in sales and a week following release, the still-in-alpha game has pushed 400,000 downloads. Yes, that’s 400,000 unfinished games selling for $30.
"Please be aware that our Early Access offer is a representation of our core pillars, and the framework we have created around them," Bohemia said of the game at this point. "It is a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs. We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle."
People want to fight zombies, but they’ll likely face a lot more bugs than undead walkers within the current state of the game. Look to hear more on DayZ Standalone as it approaches a full release.
