Forza fans may never see a droplet of rain or sunset in the horizon, and the tracks are to blame.
To rebuild an older track with modifications, Turn 10 spent nine months to reach their standards. Tracks built from scratch using new assets and an imagined layout, take even longer. When speaking to IGN, creative director at Turn 10, Dan Greenawalt, explained that a variable such as weather conditions severely changes each track.
"When we do things, we do it all the way," Greenawalt said in response to simply adding weather conditions. "That means physics, that means changing conditions, that means everything. So that is not the sort of thing that is easily undertaken in a patch.”
While Greenawalt understands that fans ask for certain features, he explains that Turn 10 dedicated their time to other areas while developing Forza Motorsport 5. "It’s not where we chose to put our investment in Forza Motorsport 5. We chose to be 1080p and 60 frames per-second, and have that solid performance.”
Turn 10 listened to fans when complaints from the community pushed the developer to adjust the Forza Motorsport 5 economy to make cars more affordable with in-game credits.
