Shadow of Mordor Screens Reveal A Dark Middle-Earth

December 16, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Monolith may well be forging the one Lord of the Rings game to rule them all.

New screens and artwork for Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor have been revealed and show how developer Monolith, creator of F.E.A.R, is weaving together an action packed tale in Tolkien's universe.

The same images were first shown in GameInformer's reveal but can now be see in high resolution below thanks to Eurogamer. You can also see a few more shots of the game here.

Shadow of Mordor tells the tale of a ranger like Strider named Talion who, along with his family, is murdered but brought back to life by a spirit of vengeance which consumes him. As part of this process, Talion gains powers he can use to spark fear in orcs though who the spirit is or why it choose to resurrect the ranger is a mystery for now.

The game was announced for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One and is set to be released in 2014.
