Twitch.tv Adds New Servers and Upgrades Video System

December 13, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Twitch.tv continues to improve their broadcasting and video streaming.

Twitch.tv Broadcast Manager, Gunrun, took to Reddit to briefly explain the changes coming to Twitch.tv.

Over the past year the Twitch team worked hard to reduce video lag without sacrificing video quality. New servers in Prague and the construction of servers in Amsterdam should help viewers around the world improve video streaming performance.

According to Gunrun, multiple upgrades to their video player system ensure the highest efficiency for video streaming. For broadcasters not partnered with Twitch, they can now access independent quality options.

Twitch.tv found its way into the next generation console with built in streaming capabilities. The PlayStation 4 lets users stream to Twitch.tv through the Share Button. Right now Xbox One owners can't stream to Twitch from their consoles, but the feature arrives in the future. Built in Twitch applications lets players view streams direct from their Xbox One console.
