Electronic Arts confirmed the news that developers at EA Canada are working on a remake of Midway’s Iconic arcade smash hit, NBA Jam, which redefined sports games by introducing action packed gameplay to the genre.
The remake will be hitting the Wii this year and while staying true to the gameplay elements that made it an all time favorite, it’s graphics will be updated with true-to-life body types, updated physics, and visible player emotions. The game will also feature additional game modes, characters and offer more depth than the original.
Peter Moore, president of EA Sports said, “Diehard fans of the original have been asking for a remake for more than a decade, we’re excited to give them their wish this year.” We got our dose of NBA Jam on the original Xbox, a few years ago(not a decade ago), but a remake for the Wii is more than welcome.
