State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition Announced, Launching With Xbox Game Pass and Steam

February 18, 2020 by Nick Biazzo

Nice for Microsoft to release the game in Xbox Game Pass!

Microsoft and developer Undead Labs announced over the weekend that their critically acclaimed open-world zombie survival title, State of Decay 2, will be receiving a new Juggernaut Edition early next month!

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is set to release for the Xbox One and PC on March 13th. The game will be filled with new and improved mechanics, as well as all of the DLC packs. As developer Undead Labs announce, the new Juggernaut Edition will launch alongside Xbox Game Pass, making the game available for anyone who is a member of the service.

Lastly, the Juggernaut Edition will be a free, automatic upgrade for all existing owners of State of Decay 2, including all Xbox Game Pass members!

Check out some of the highlighted post from the Xbox Wire provided from Philip Holt, Head of Development at Undead Labs down below:

Today, we are thrilled to announce State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition, an expanded and improved version that takes everything you love about State of Decay 2 and adds tons of new content and improvements for veteran and new players alike. We created a brand-new open world map for players to explore in a rugged logging town named Providence Ridge, and we completely rebuilt the post-tutorial experience to better teach players the key facets of playing State of Decay 2.

There’s also a new category of heavy melee weapons that reward player skill and timing, a wide range of graphical improvements (including better lighting and foliage optimization for better performance), and dodge and stealth are now split into separate commands as part of an improved control scheme. We also fixed dozens of mission and gameplay bugs to ensure a better experience for all players, improved the audio experience, including additional music that doubles the total amount in the game, and more.

In related news, Microsoft has announced a brand new batch of games will be headed to its subscription service, Xbox Game Pass. The lineup of games includes a mixed bag of different games and genres for your liking, including some great titles like Ninja Gaiden 2, Kingdom Hearts 3 Enhanced Edition, and plenty more. Check out the full set of games heading to the service this month right here!

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is set to release for both the Xbox One and PC on March 13th. Are you excited for the upcoming expanded and improved version of the game? Let us know in the comments below!
