The Banner Saga Offers a Rough Guide to Combat

December 5, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new video from Stoic teaches you how to do battle.

Stoic Studio, the developer of the indie role-playing game The Banner Saga, has put together a new trailer today detailing what the heart of the combat experience will be like in the upcoming story-driven single-player game.

The video is titled the "Rough Guide to Combat" and covers the basics of the game that any beginner must consider when preparing for battle, and the tactics they will need to think about while in the heart of combat.

Some highlights of the video include an overview of the hero stats a player should keep an eye on: armor, strength, willpower, exertion and break, as well as a focus on how ‘willpower’ can also be used strategically to boost various actions in combat to take out an enemy.

The Banner Saga is planned for a January 14, 2014 release date on the PC and Mac.
