DICE Rolling Out Battlefield 4 PC Update Today Prior To China Rising Release

December 3, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Latest update handles some of the nagging issues with the game on the platform.

DICE has revealed that there is a game update for Battlefield 4 for PC scheduled to roll out today as early as 1 AM PST/ 10 AM UTC, to be followed by the release of China Rising an hour after.

DICE is making some major specific promises with this update. We’re running them down for you below.

Perhaps most prominently, they are fixing the one hit kill bug. This bug takes the damage from a single bullet and applies it to a target multiple times, precipitating the one hit kill.

They also fixed a common and very dangerous crash that happened whenever you exit from the Single Player Campaign to the Main Menu.

The network and computer performance screen has been fixed to show proper values. They were getting incorrect data from game tests before, unfortunately, but now they can get accurate data and share it online to get proper recommendations for gameplay improvements.

Soldiers that came up when Commanders came out to use their EMP attacks would occasionally have a blurring effect attached to them. This blur effect has been removed.

Finally, there was an audio bug that would frequently pop up on multiplayer maps, such as Golmud Railway and Hainan Resort. Basically, the audio itself would drop out at random, with no particular action or event precipitating the bug. This has been removed as well.

Frankly, I fully expect a host of new bugs to pop up when China Rising comes out and gets tested around, but for better or worse, this is not just what players have come to expect, but accept to be some of the first people to play the game.
