PlayStation Brazil Posts Crash Bandicoot Image

November 26, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Long absent Crash wants a hug, apparently.

Correction: This image was posted prior to the Crash Bandicoot news over the past week and most likely only means that the character is iconic to PlayStation.

Original story: The PlayStation Brazil Twitter account has posted an image of long absent hero Crash Bandicoot along with the phrase "Crash quer um abraço!" which means "Crash wants a hug!"

It comes after much speculation that Sony had bought the rights to the IP from Activision. However, hopes that this was indeed the case were crushed by a statement from the publisher to GameInformer.

A spokesperson commented:

“Activision owns Crash Bandicoot and we continue to explore ways in which we could bring the beloved series back to life."

The former PlayStation mascot was also recently spotted in the PS4 launch trailer. Rumours over a possible sales rose due to Activision's removal of the Crash website as well as all references to the franchise on its main site.

While it seems Crash still resides with Activision, it's possible a new game may be on the way if this teaser and the PS4 trailer homage are anything to go by.
