Microsoft has released the official Xbox One SmartGlass companion app on Windows Phones
The free 13mb install popped up today on the Windows Phone store and you can download it now.
SmartGlass allows users to pair their smartphone or tablet with their console in order to controls menus, message friends, and launch apps or games.
You can also use it to check friend activity or view your Achievements. Users may also pin apps, games, and other content for easy access when they return to their console.
Microsoft describes the app as follows:
"Xbox One SmartGlass is the perfect companion app for your Xbox One, both in your living room and on the go. Connect and control your Xbox One. Stay connected with the games and gamers you like. And add a new dimension to your console entertainment with the mobile device you already own"
The Xbox One app's release comes mere days before the console launches in 13 countries on Friday. It's unclear when the app will be available for iOS or Android devices.
