Red Dead Online Update Brings New Frontier Mode, Specialist Role, and More

December 3, 2019 by Nick Biazzo

Coming later this month.

Rockstar Games took to their blog to announce the upcoming update for their hit game, Red Dead Redemption 2.

Titled Moonshiners: A New Frontier Pursuit, the update will bring a whole new activity and specialist role for players to immerse themselves into. Players will be able to establish their own bootlegging business with this new Specialist role. If you primarily play as a trader, this will be the perfect role for you to adapt to.

You will be able to unlock distillation methods to make profits, put rival bootleggers out of business, all while avoiding the law. Rockstar teases the ability to open up your own speakeasy if you rank up far enough. In addition to all that, Outlaw Pass No. 2 is also on its way. Players should expect to get their hands on the new Navy Revolver, additional clothing options and an increase in the amount of outfit slots in your Wardrobe.

When the update goes live on December 13th, this is how you’ll be able to access its contents:

Any active Trader who has completed a sell mission or reached Rank 5 in the Trader progression will receive an introduction via Cripps to meet the infamous Maggie Fike – an experienced bootlegger with the scars to prove it – down at Emerald Ranch. Maggie’s got the connections and the knowledge to help you get your business up and running.

Purchase a Moonshining Shack and you will be on your way. To passers-by, the Shack is an unassuming dwelling, the main floor acting as a front with all the details of an ordinary homestead. The basement, however, is where you’ll ultimately get down to business

In related news, Rockstar Games recently issued a new update for PC players for Red Dead Redemption 2.
