Call Of Duty Ghosts: How To Go After Those K.E.M. Strikes

November 18, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

K.E.M. Strikes aren’t easy to pull off, but are rewarding when you do. Here’s how to even the odds.

We have a guide for you on how to get K.E.M. Strikes on Call of Duty Ghosts. It is not an easy achievement to obtain, but it is one that’s worth getting.

The K.E.M. Strike, or Kinetic Energy Missile Strike, is a 25 pointstreak, 24 if you have the Hardline Perk. Kills and objective points count towards it, making it a real pointstreak award. When it is called in, a ten second timer begins, killing all enemies simultaneously the moment it reaches zero. It also changes the terrain and layout of the map, and it has an EMP effect, making killstreaks useless for 60 seconds.

First off, maps are generally too big, so save your rush gameplay style for smaller maps like Strikezone, where it is best suited. For most maps, you will want to stay around the edges and take out players rushing towards certain points or objectives. However, you should keep moving around the edges so that you do not become a stationary target yourself.

Do not play modes like Free For All. They do not give you enough time for 2nd chances in case your streak breaks the 1st time. Instead, play longer game modes. Blitz is best for K.E.M. Strikes, because you literally get free kills on spawn points.

The best guns for K.E.M. Strikes are assault rifles, particularly the AK-12, with silencer and extended mags, and the Honey Badger with iron sights. SMGs are rendered redundant by the assault rifles. The Specialist setup is also the best set of perks to aim for, giving you bonuses, for example, like Scavenger when you are in an eight killstreak.

One small tip: you may want to run a lower sensitivity when going for the killstreak. It keeps your aim steadier and you can secure kills better. It’s best to master sensitivity and button layout before going for a K.E.M. Strike. Of course, make sure to keep in contact with your team this whole time.

We won’t recount the source’s personal setup here, since by his admission, these are a matter of preference. If you do want to know to help inform your choices, you can watch the video here.
