Minecraft Texture Pack Trailer Ventures Into Skyrim

November 15, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition trailers the new Skyrim texture pack.

To mash-up two of the most popular games in recent years, Bethesda plans to release a Skyrim themed texture pack for the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft. To display the Skyrim texture in motion, a cinematic trailer brings players to the land of Skyrim filled with dragons and pesky guards.

In addition to the textures changing the appearance of the Minecraft, the trailer shows off many of the 40 Skyrim skins applied to in-game characters. Changes to the menu, UI and inventory contribute to the transportation of The Elder Scrolls into the Minecraft universe.

The $3.99 add-on even recreates notable locales such as Whiterun, Riverwood and Bleak Falls Barrow. Since music also contributes to the Skyrim atmosphere, dozens of tracks from the original score make their way into the add-on's release.

Bethesda has yet to announce a release date for the texture pack outside of the very specific date of "coming soon."
