Creative Assembly’s Alien Game Unlikely to be Film Tie-In

May 12, 2011

Creative Assembly has announced the development of a new game in the Alien franchise. It is unknown at this point as to whether the game will be a tie-in with the upcoming Ridley Scott movie.

The developers of the Total War series, Creative Assembly, announced this morning that they will be developing a new game in the Alien franchise.

The developer described the game as being a "console core game" and that development on the as-yet-unnamed title has already begun.

When the developer was asked whether the game would be a tie-in with Ridley Scott's new movie, Prometheus, studio director Tim Heaton suggested that it wouldn't be.

"What we can say is that we understand that games that are time-constrained to be day-and-date with the movie are often flawed, so it's probably something we wouldn't really want to be tied to," he said.

The game is unrelated to Gearbox's Colonial Marines, which remains in development hell.
