Minecraft PS3 Edition Now Ready for Testing, Next-Gen Versions Coming Later

Developer 4J Studios reveals Minecraft won’t be a PS4 launch title.

4J Studios has announced on Twitter that Minecraft: PS3 Edition is now ready for testing and that the PS4 and Xbox One versions will come later. 

We're hard at work getting Minecraft: PS3 Edition ready for testing just now. The other platforms & TU14 will be later.

Asked if this means the PS4 version will be a launch title this Friday 4J said: 

@LEGENDxTAZ No, it won't be a launch title.

Although it is possible the game could make the PS4's European launch on November 29th.

The studio added that it did not currently have dates for the next-gen versions of the Minecraft: 

@TheClanofHeroes No confirmed dates yet – we'll let you know when we have dates for the other platforms.

The Xbox One edition of Minecraft was revealed at E3 in June while the PS3, PS Vita, and PS4 versions of the game were announced at gamescom in August. It's not yet clear if saves from the Xbox 360 Edition will transfer to the Xbox One version.
