Call of Duty Ghosts: The Best Equipment In The Game

November 11, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

The best equipment is new, it’s lethal in real life, and it’s very, very good. Find out more below.

We have another video talking about the best equipment available in Call of Duty Ghosts. This is new in the game, and of course, something you haven’t heard of yet. You will also want to watch/ read our previous guide on the game's best gun.

The equipment we are referring to is the thermobaric grenade. Before that, let me share a brief explanation on what this means. Thermobaric weapons are explosives that use the oxygen in the surrounding air to create an intense, high temperature explosion. It’s known to be very effective in confined spaces, and without dwelling into it too much, it is a very unpleasant weapon all around. The analogy made in the video that it is comparable to a mini-nuke is, unfortunately, not far from the truth.

What follows below is a roundup of our source video, which you can watch right here.

In Call of Duty Ghosts, it’s described as a fuel air grenade that weakens armor and has a low, large blast radius. It’s estimated it takes as much as 30 to 40 damage, far less than a frag, so how is this the best equipment?

The thing is, it complements your other explosives, making them drastically more effective. Whether you are using IEDs, grenades, C4, etc, it increases the kill range by over double. In other words, you can use this to make any other explosive in the game as lethal as a frag, plus use its other unique qualities.

The best way to use the thermobaric grenades is to throw them out first, to stun and hurt enemies in a wide radius, and then take them out with another suitable explosive or your primary weapon. They are most effective in maps where enemies are likely to huddle together, or have confined spaces to trap them in.
