Nintendo Switch Overwatch Port Will Not Feature Amiibo Support

Oct 3, 2019 Dennis Patrick

Overwatch on Nintendo Switch launches this October 15, 2019.

Overwatch is a Blizzard-developed team-based multiplayer shooter surrounded heroes. We’ve seen a few of these video game titles based on heroes and their various abilities launch into the market lately though it still seems that Overwatch remains one of the best video game hero shooters to purchase.

There’s a variety of game modes to choose from which may have you tweaking your role, character classes and of course strategy within the team. Likewise, the development team behind Overwatch, Blizzard Entertainment, will introduce new heroes into the game from time-to-time.

This game has been available since 2016 on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. However, it will soon find its way onto the Nintendo Switch. Slated to launch on October 15, 2019, Blizzard Entertainment will have another title readily available on all current-generation platforms.

However, if you were wondering if there would be any additional features or goodies through the use of Amiibo’s then you’re out of luck. While there is no Amiibo support, the game will release up-to-date with the other versions of the title.

In other news regarding the port, it’s been confirmed that Overwatch will be running at 900p when docked or 720p when being played when its not docked. Regardless if it’s docked or not, the game will be running at 30 frames-per-second.

As mentioned earlier, the game will be launching on Nintendo Switch this October 15, 2019. If you have yet to try this popular FPS and would like to see a bit more about the game then we suggest looking at our Before You Buy episode upload which we have embedded above.
