Sony Announces New Online Store for PS4 Consoles, Accessories, and Games Sold Directly from PlayStation
Stephen Turvey SVP Head of North American Business Operations at SIE took to the PlayStation Blog this morning to announce some exciting news for the company regarding physical media for their products!
The new store will sell PS4 consoles, accessories, and games sold directly from PlayStation and will make it very simple for consumers. They’re looking to eliminate the middle man — Best Buy, GameStop, and Aamzon, altogether.
This new store could serve as a new option for a bunch of gamers and especially since one of their big sellers is that PlayStation Plus members who are signed in will be eligible for Free 1-Day Express Shipping!
Check out what Stephen Turvey said about the launching of the new online PlayStation Store down below:
Hi PlayStation fans, today we’re launching our own online store to offer PS4 consoles, accessories, games, and more directly from PlayStation for fans and gift-givers in the US, who can visit a single destination.
Integrated within the PlayStation.com website, you can now easily navigate from hardware and game product information pages directly to purchasing these PlayStation products from our store, ranging from PS4, PS4 Pro and PS VR systems and bundles, as well as headsets, DualShock 4 Wireless Controllers, PS VR accessories, a selection of physical games, and voucher codes for PS Plus subscriptions.
This is a smart move for Sony, but will it actually bring new customers to their site instead of their competitors such as GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon? Let us know in the comments below on what you think about the new PlayStation store!
