Inspired by the PlayStation Memories hashtag, which seemed to take Twitter by storm just a few weeks ago, the above advertisement is a tribute to the great times the gaming community has had with past PlayStation consoles before the new one makes its debut Nov. 15.
Just like the handful of people shown in the video, the PlayStation brand has grown up. New interfaces, hit releases, and memorable opening jingles have helped shape Sony’s console in the eyes of its fanbase. Certain players have a strong attachment to the brand that stretches back to elementary school, and it’s likely that you’ll have some of these memories come back to you throughout this three-minute long spot.
This is one of the most solid pieces of promotion that Sony has put out for the PlayStation 4, but it certainly isn’t the first that we’ve seen. A recent commercial saw its debut last week during Monday Night Football, hoping to showcase exactly why everyone should get excited for what’s being called the world’s most powerful console. Expect plenty of additional media in the coming weeks.
