Dark Horse Crafting The Witcher Comic Book

October 11, 2013 by Stephen Daly

The first volume of the comic series is set to release in March 2014.

CD Projekt RED has confirmed the recently teased comic book for The Witcher which is to be produced by Dark Horse. The first edition of the comic will be released on March 19th, 2014.

The comic is to be produced by Paul Tobin (Bandette), with art from Joe Querio (Lobster Johnson, B.R.P.D) and covers by Dave Johnson (100 Bullets).

In the comic, Geralt will investigate a haunted mansion called the House of Glass which is home to "endless rooms and horror around every corner."

Adam Badowski, the head of CD Projekt RED, commented:

"We're very happy to be working with Dark Horse Comics, which is one of the biggest and most interesting comic book publishing houses in the world. What makes it even more exciting is the fact that, for many of us, the Dark Horse logo has near legendary status, standing for classic characters such as Hellboy or Usagi Yojimbo. We're very happy to be once again expanding The Witcher universe."

Nick McWhorter of Dark Horse added:

"We're very excited to work with CD Projekt RED on The Witcher. With the rich world they have created, and an enthralling central character like Geralt, we feel The Witcher is ripe to tell a compelling story through comics."

The next game in the series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is set for release in 2014 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. While the game does not have a launch date as of yet, it's possible that the comic's March release window could offer a hint.
