Shovel Knight was a hit when it first released as it brought back classic era platforming to modern consoles. Its story was basic, players were tasked at saving his beloved after she was sealed away in a tower. Standing in your way was a series of bosses which you had to defeat and because of the popularity this game had, the development team at Yacht Club was able to deliver new campaigns for players to enjoy. Now, a new adventure awaits as Yacht Club Games unveiled Shovel Knight Dig which still has plenty of work left for developers to finish before its set to release.
We don’t have a ton of information about the game but we do know that Drill Knight has stolen your loot and is planning on destroying the surface world. As a result, Shovel Knight must venture below ground and stop the foe and along the way, you’ll come across new strange lands, friends along with a new variety of enemies. Likewise, you can expect more mechanics featured in the game, the biggest, of course, is digging your way down and using new speed shovel mechanics speeds.
While we’re still waiting for new details about the game and what we can expect, Yacht Club Games did state that the title will be available at PAX West for players to try a new demo. As a result, we’ll have to keep an eye out for any new details regarding but for now, you can check out the trailer above.
