PS3 System Update Opens Automatic Downloads For All Users

October 1, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Automatic downloads feature now available for all PSN users.

The PlayStation 3 version 4.50 update will make the automatic download feature free for all PSN users.

The automatic downloads of both game and system updates previously came part of the PlayStation Plus subscription. The auto download feature allowed users to set a time when the PlayStation 3 system will sync trophy information and download any available updates.

The PlayStation 4 will expand download capabilities by even allowing players to separately download single player and multiplayer portions of games.

The 4.50 update should release on PS3 consoles sometime today.
