Romero Games and Paradox Interactive’s adaptation of mafia-filled 1920s Chicago, Empire of Sin, was revealed during Nintendo’s E3 2019 briefing. Since then, the studio didn’t showcase much new details.
Luckily, WCCFTech managed to sit down with Game Designer Ian O’Neill and studio founder John Romero, where they asked several questions, covering almost every aspect of the title. One of the more interesting answers was the studio’s willingness to let players mod Empire of Sin.
Definitely. Empire of Sin’s engine was started from the ground up to be a moddable architecture. The game can be fully modded on the PC, including programming. We will be releasing lots of the game’s Lua code as a starting point for modders.
In addition to that, the development team plans to add more content through continuous updates.
Empire of Sin will continue to be updated through DLC. That and anything else beyond it is up to Paradox and their amazing marketing team to explore.
Empire of Sin comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC later in Spring 2020. Check out the announcement trailer below.
