Media Molecule’s Dreams is a place for players to let their imagination and creativity run wild. We already saw a lot of examples of how people intend to use this freedom, with some even recreating whole segments of their favourite titles, including Metal Gear Solid 1’s opening segment.
Media Molecule’s Co-Founder and Creative Director Mark Healey was featured in July’s MCVUK issue, where he expressed the studio’s happiness in the results obtained from Dreams’ early access so far. He admitted there are still a few problems but the team is continuously working hard to iron them out before getting out to the public.
It’s going as good as we could ever hope for.
We want to do a bit of a slow build up so that we can iron out any obvious problems before we put it in front of too many people’s faces really. And the quality of the community is amazing, which was something we’d really hoped for and something that we put particular effort into, targeting certain people that we knew would be right for Dreams – primarily a lot of LittleBigPlanet creators for example but not just that. My experience is that it’s very good-natured, lots of people who are willing to help each other out and collaborate. So I think there’s a nice happy feeling in the community we’ve got so far.
Dreams is available on PS4 for early access.
