Keanu Reeves Has a Huge Part in Cyberpunk 2077; Second Most Dialogued Character in the Game

June 14, 2019 by Jordan Biazzo

He kind of sounds like a bad guy?

When the reveal of Keanu Reeves happened in the latest Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, everyone went crazy and for good reason; Reeves is one of the coolest actors and just general people out there.

However, many of us assumed he would be a minor character, but new interviews from CD Projekt RED makes sure to let fans know that he is VERY important. In fact, he is so important that he has the second most dialogued lines in the entire game! CDPR’s CEO Marcin Iwinski said that players will be seeing Keanu and hearing him from the beginning of the game to the end.

“He’s the No. 2 character in terms of lines of spoken text across the entire game,” Iwinski said. It took Keanu 15 Days to record all his dialogue.

This is a nice surprise! Now knowing that Keanu is a large part of the game, fans can now expect to see his character Johnny longer than just a cameo setpiece.

In addition to that news, more information about the highly anticipated game came out from the E3 Coliseum. Check out CD PROJEKT CEO’s Marcin Iwiński in conversation with Geoff Keighley about the past, present and future of CD PROJEKT RED, including Cyberpunk 2077 down below:

You can develop [your relationship with Johnny] towards different resolutions I would say, and that happens in the late game and finale, and so on… so really important part of the game. One thing I could add is it’s not absolutely completely true that he’s a really nice guy.

He has his own agenda. There are things going on between you, and he may not always like what’s going on. I think that’s something that we could emphasize here. There’s this play between [Johnny and V]. This play, I would call fight, slow pushing, one pushing another, seeing where are the boundaries.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. Are you excited for the highly anticipated title? Let us know in the comments below!
