World War Z Breaks One Million Units Sold Milestone in First Week; PC Sales ‘Way Above Expectations Thanks to Epic Games Store’
Saber Interactive revealed World War Z, a four-player co-operative zombie survival title, last year during E3. The game released earlier last week, receiving mostly favourable reviews on its gameplay and the rush it gives you when you outlive hordes of zombies. In fact, the game’s sales is exceeding the studio’s expectations, and are “extremely thrilled” with the response so far.
Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch expressed his excitement towards World War Z’s success so far and thanked the fans for their support. He continued to mention Epic Games Store as one of the main reasons the game is performing “way above expectations” on PC specifically.
Saber is extremely thrilled by the performance of the game on all platforms. On the PC specifically, we are performing way above expectations thanks to the support we have received from the Epic Games Store. Moving forward, we’ll continue to work on growing the game and its community with new improvements, stability updates and bonus gameplay content, beginning very soon with a special new mission for the Tokyo episode.
World War Z is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is priced at $34.99 on Epic Games Store, while console owners have to pay $39.99.
