More details emerge on Resident Evil 5 AE second episode

December 24, 2009 by Gameranx Staff

Assistant Producer talks about “Desperate Escape”

Assistant Producer Mie Suzuki spilled the beans on the second downloadable episode coming to Resident Evil 5, Desperate Escape, coming March 4, 2010. So far we know the second episode titled “Desperate Escape” features Jill Valentine and Josh Stone(BSAA), but in an interview with Dengeki PlayStation Suzuki revealed,

Desperate Escape is set after Jill’s comatose is cleared and Chris and Sheva head off in hot pursuit of Wesker. Jill meets up with Josh, who came to rescue her, and the two attempt to escape from a Tricell facility.

She later added, that both the episodes Desperate Escape and Lost in Nightmares were originally part of Resident Evil 5 from the beginning but were left out due to balance considerations(or maybe to make an extra buck by ripping off die hard Resident Evil fans?) and there aren’t any plans on adding new content beyond these two.
Both the episode will offer at least 1-2 hrs of action packed gameplay including some additional modes which will have a huge amount of replay value but no details were given on those modes.
No new characters were mentioned for the “Mercenaries Reunion mode” which leaves us with 5 of the 8 characters revealed so far i.e Office Lady Sheva, Warrior Chris, Exoskelton Chris, Folklore Sheva, and Josh.
