New Rumors Circulate Online Over Next Xbox Consoles

February 22, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

Prepare for an E3 reveal?

The current generation consoles have been around for a few years now and if things follow the trends of past generation releases, we will see the next console reveal from manufacturers in the very near future. There are already reports that Microsoft is gearing up to unveil the next Xbox consoles in this coming E3 expo. That’s right, the rumor going around right now is showcasing two consoles coming from Microsoft which will follow the trend of what’s being offered today, such as the Xbox One X and Xbox One S. However, because these are rumors, there is a good chance that this information circulating online is in fact false.

According to a French website, Jeuxvideo, there will be two consoles unveiled during Microsoft’s E3 press conference. These consoles will be the Anaconda and the Lockhart, both of which are codenames at the moment. The higher tier of the two is the Anaconda which will apparently boast a full 16 GB of RAM while the Lockhart is said to have just 12 GB of RAM. Likewise, the Lockhart is supposedly releasing without the disc drive which means you’ll have to rely on buying games digitally or using a streaming service offered by Microsoft.

These systems, if the rumors prove to be true, will not be available until sometime in 2020 so that means we still have the rest of this year to enjoy our current generation consoles before ultimately packing them away or turning it into cash to help offset the cost of the next generation platform release. At any rate, this will be a big year regardless from Microsoft at E3 simply for the fact that Sony is not attending the annual gaming expo.

What do you think of a two-tier console system release going forward? Let us know by leaving a comment down below.
