Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition Confirmed for October

August 28, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

The Borderlands 2 re-release has been confirmed.

One of the biggest, baddest shooters of 2013, Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2, will catch its second wind this October with a content rich game of the year edition. The product, which was first discovered by IGN through leaked GameStop promotional material, will be hitting the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC Oct. 8 in North America and Oct. 11 for the rest of the world.

For $59.99, players can expect more than $100 of additional, loot-filled content that’s been slowly released after the game’s official launch. The core campaign will of course be included, but all of the Season Pass offerings will help make this a game you won’t be putting down for many, many hours.

The full list of extras can be seen below:

·         Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty

·         Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage

·         Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt

·         Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep

·         Creature Slaughter Dome

·         Gaige, the Mechromancer character class

·         Krieg, the Psycho character class

·         Gearbox Gun Pack

·         Golden Key

·         Vault Hunter's Relic

·         Collector's Edition Heads and Skins

·         Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1

Borderlands 2 was recently confirmed for a release on the PlayStation Vita, and while we haven’t yet heard a date on that particular version of the title, it’s possible that this October game of the year edition could be what was discussed at Sony’s Gamescom press event. More information on the handheld shooter should be revealed in the near future.
