NBA 2K14 Screens Focus on the Legends

August 27, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

Some of the all-time greats can be seen in these new images.

NBA 2K14 will feature the best, most athletic players currently playing the game. Cover athlete LeBron James is a prime example of the skill level that can be reached in modern basketball, but other stars like Kevin Durant, Dwyane Wade, and Carmelo Anthony will also light up the court in this year’s next-generation sports title. However, there’s nothing quite like the classics. 2K Games has just released a series of screenshots that showcase the legends of the sport that even casual fans hold in a high regard.

The stars are shining in these new images, where Hakeem, Jordan, Thomas, Magic, and Iverson are all showing people why they just can’t forget their names. Big dunks, slick passes, and the improved movement can all be seen in the screens, which are taken directly from the current-gen versions of the game that launch Oct. 1 in North America and Oct. 4 in Europe. 2K community man Ronnie Singh has also provided a short clip of future hall-of-famer Kobe Bryant taking a step-back shot after faking a pass. Take a look at it all below.

All of this media can also be related to the unique Pro Stick functionality, which will place all of the shooting and quick maneuvers on the right analog stick. It’s just one of the many changes making its way to this year’s iteration, which has yet to see an official release date on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Expect to hear more whenever Microsoft unveils its launch date.
