Anthem Saves Can Be Transferred Over To Next Generation Consoles

February 8, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

Looks like you can bring your saves from current gen consoles when the next console platforms release.

Anthem, the upcoming video game IP from BioWare, was originally slated to launch in 2018. However, that quickly changed when the game was ultimately pushed back for a 2019 release. This is a science fiction style RPG where humanity has begun to colonize other planets. But, within these planets are harsh environments and creatures. Players will take on the role of a Freelancer, an elite task force member that can explore the open world. However, in order to do so, Freelancer’s will require the use of a Javelin. Since this games announcement, there has been plenty of interest from players and fans of BioWare’s previous works.

The game has yet to make it out on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms, but that hasn’t stopped gamers from thinking about what’s to come. Already we know that Anthem is a game that BioWare is hoping to support for a long time much like the game Destiny was supported online for years. However, that means that this game may be supported well into the life cycle of the next generation consoles. These next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft have yet to really be announced and shown off for the world to see. Likewise, we don’t know when exactly they will release, but it’s clear that we’re nearing the day when both the PlayStation 5 and the next generation Xbox console will be hitting the market.

As a result, players have expressed some concerns as to what this may mean for those who pick up and start playing Anthem right when the game launches into the market. Answered on Twitter, the head of BioWare’s live service, Chad Robertson confirmed that gamers can carry over their saves from the current generation consoles to the next generation consoles. We don’t know just how long of a wait we have before that next-generation consoles become available in the market and just how much longer we have to wait before a video game port is made from Anthem for these consoles. Regardless, we can at least rest easy knowing that when the time comes, BioWare will be able to make it a seamless transfer.

For now, gamers can expect to pick up Anthem for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platform this February 22, 2019.
