Housemarque, the developers behind notable titles like Super Stardust HD, announced Resogun at the gamescom event in Germany.
Resogun will provide sidescrolling, dual-stick shooting action not at all short of bright neon colours.
The studio announced their plans to create a PS4 game a few months ago. While they didn't mention Resogun by name, Housemarque did mention the existence of a spiritual successor to Super Stardust.
PS4 owners can also play Resogun through a PlayStation Plus subscription.
