Assassin’s Creed 4 Shop Items Detailed With Screenshots

August 19, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Upgrades include weapons, Jackdaw upgrades, and animal hides.

Thanks to an enterprising redditor, we have screenshots and descriptions of several shop items from Assassin's Creed 4. They range from weapons, animal hides, and upgrades to the Jackdaw. For your convenience, we're listing the items per category here, and you can check out the images below.

Ship upgrades:

Aries figurehead (note: the figurehead is a bust of a horned ram.)

The Jackdaw's figurehead – A figurehead that once graced the bow of Edward Kenway's ship, the Jackdaw.

Black and Red sails

Black-skull sails

Diamond sails

Gilded sails

Grey sails

Queen Anne's Revenge sails – A set of sails that once belonged to Blackbeard's ship, Queen Anne's Revenge.

Split-blood sails

Broadside cannons – Seven broadside cannons with limited fire power.

Chase cannons – Two front chase cannons that allow for small fire- and stun-power.

Hull armor – This hull gives the Jackdaw some resistance to small amounts to damage.

Weapons:

Officer's rapiers – A pair of extremely light rapiers praised for their swiftness.

Officer's smallswords – A pair of small swords quite popular among officers in the English military.

Pirate blunderbusses – A set of bulky blunderbusses, popular among pirates for their brashness.

Pirate scimitars – A pair of sharp and devastating scimitars, praised by pirates and privateers from Barbados to Boston.

Privateer's cutlasses – A pair of cutlasses appreciated for their versatility by Privateers throughout the West Indies.

Spanish officer pistols – A set of pistols, praised throughout the West Indies for their stability.

Animals:

Iguana pelt

Jaguar pelt

Killer whale skin

Ocelot pelt

Red howler monkey skin

We're  sure the inclusion of even more animals to hunt down for their skin will be of much interest to PETA, but we have yet to see how Ubisoft planned to add this element to the gameplay. Will you be hunting a lot for food? Will this key into the plot? Or is it just additional content you can skip entirely? Is it enough to turn you off on the game?
