New Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Gameplay Showcases “Memories”, Grappling, and More

January 14, 2019 by Jordan Biazzo

Who’s hyped for FromSoftware’s upcoming game?

Thanks to Game Informer’s exclusive coverage, new gameplay for FromSoftware’s upcoming title, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has been released.

For the whole month Game Informer and FromSoftware will be releasing new tidbits and information about the game as we slowly creep up to its official release date of March 22. The new footage that Game Informer released is relatively short, only clocking in at about 1 minute and 50 seconds, but we do get to see some new gameplay for the highly anticipated game.

We learned that for the first time in a FromSoftware game, our character will be able to swim. It looks like the developers are working hard on creating a map for players to traverse from all angles — running, grappling, and now swimming. We also get a little look into the game’s mini-bosses and the “memories” areas.

Check out the new exclusive footage of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice down below:

For those who want a formal description of the game, check out the blurb from the game’s official website down below:

In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice you are the “one-armed wolf”, a disgraced and disfigured warrior rescued from the brink of death. Bound to protect a young lord who is the descendant of an ancient bloodline, you become the target of many vicious enemies, including the dangerous Ashina clan. When the young lord is captured, nothing will stop you on a perilous quest to regain your honor, not even death itself.

Explore late 1500s Sengoku Japan, a brutal period of constant life and death conflict, as you come face to face with larger than life foes in a dark and twisted world. Unleash an arsenal of deadly prosthetic tools and powerful ninja abilities while you blend stealth, vertical traversal, and visceral head to head combat in a bloody confrontation.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is set to release on March 22 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Are you excited about the upcoming game? Let us know in the comments below!
