Puppeteer’s 6 bosses revealed

August 16, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Each boss based on an animal from the Chinese zodiac.

Puppeteer is one of those prerequisite Sony games which takes a premise fit for a Nintendo console and then puts an edgy spin on it. Today, the Sony blog revealed six of the game's thirteen bosses, each based on animals from the Chinese Zodiac, and demonstrating a bit of personality, if stereotypically so. We won't share how you can attack or beat these bosses, but if you want those spoilers, you can jump to the link below.

General Bull is made of construction machinery and demonstrates some arrogance based on his brute strength. He doesn't like losing and is loyal to the Moon Bear King. Bull is also married to our next boss, General Horse.

Yes, General Horse is the sole female boss (at least, announced thus far). She is lanky and can change form into a locomotive. Like her husband Bull, she is loyal to the Moon Bear King, and also demonstrates an arrogance based on her speed and extremely strong legs.

General Pig is a pirate, replete with comically oversized hat, beard and tusks that almost hides his face completely. Pig is not so much loyal to Moon Bear King as much as he is just blatantly avaricious.

General Rat is the smallest of all the bosses, but still twice the size of our hero Kutaro. He is untrustworthy and sneaky, faking loyalty to the Moon Bear King but eager to run away at the slightest sign he's in trouble. He does not have a good relationship with our next boss…

General Snake is one of the largest bosses, second only to Dragon. He is usually caged and waits patiently for when Moon Bear King deigns to use him. Snake is embittered and has a terrible relationship with all the other bosses.

Finally, we have the imposing General Tiger, whose left canine is a shard of moonstone and has a mace at the end of his tail. Interestingly, he is a paper tiger, and reflecting this, he is far too subservient to the Moon Bear King, while he acts apex predator around everyone clearly below him.

Does this raise your interest in Puppeteer? You can get the game for Playstation 3 this coming September 10. Check out fullscreen images of the bosses below
