Fallout 76 released earlier this year after its reveal during Bethesda’s press conference at E3 2018. The video game was a new take on the Fallout franchise where players would be playing together online. Overall, the title follows survivors from Vault 76 which emerge from their vault twenty-five years after the nuclear blast in order to rebuild civilization. Much of the game is exploring the open world, fighting back hostilities, building up settlements and defending them. With Fallout being a massive video game franchise, it was expected that there would be gamers picking up the Power Armor edition which came with a few different goodies.
In the edition, gamers would receive not only the game but a steelbook, a full-scale wearable T-51 Power Armor Helmet, a glow-in-the-dark terrain map, collectible figurines, along with a bag that would be used to store the helmet. Advertising this edition showed a canvas bag but once the game released, gamers were finding that Bethesda swapped out the bag for a cheaper nylon bag which caused an uproar from the gaming community.
According to reports, it appears that there was no intention of replacing the bags as they were simply too much to manufacture for the edition. However, it now seems that the Bethesda team has decided to follow through with their original advertisement and replace the bags but it will take some time before they are able to deliver the bag. When gamers submit a ticket for a bag replacement from Bethesda they will be noted of a four to six month wait time before they are able to deliver the canvas bag.
There may be a push to also get in the good graces of the gaming community as the game is not doing as well as they had likely hoped. Critics have been giving the game poor reviews and several sales for the title after launch may show that community is not lasting very long in the game before tapping out completely.
