Dead Island: Epidemic Announced as Zombie MOBA

August 7, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Deep Silver enters the MOBA space with Dead Island: Epidemic.

Today Deep Silver announced Dead Island: Epidemic – a free-to-play PC title in the Dead Island franchise.

Instead of the series' signature first-person zombie dismemberment, Dead Island: Epidemic will launch as a free-to-play MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) in a similar vein of games like League of Legends and DOTA 2.

Dead Island: Epidemic will place three teams inside an arena to fend off the zombie horde.

Without any other information besides the game's official website, MOBA fans (or ZOMBA as Deep Silver refers to it as) will need to wait for gamescom later this month for more information.

Gamescom will run from the 21st of August to the 25th in Cologne, Germany.
