Amazon.co.uk users can download digital game titles for PC and Mac with 600 games now available.
The Game Download Store includes major AAA titles such as Tomb Raider and Far Cry 3 as well as more niche digital-only indie titles such as The Cave. A range of DLCs, including Battlefield 3's various map based expansions, are also on offer.
You can also take a look at some of the free-to-play offerings suchs as Stronghold Kingdoms with players having the option to spend £102.99 for 3150 Crowns.
Other non-games related software including Microsoft Office, Photoshop and language tutor Rosetta Stone are also available.
Amazon says the the service will feature "competitive prices" which suggests it will aim to match services such as Steam. Far Cry 3 costs £14.99 as a boxed product but £9.99 as a download.
You can also pre-order games so that they download as soon as they're released.
Amazon exec Xavier Garambois commented "Customers buying software and video games who want their products quickly can now download these products straight to their computer with the click of a button. Not only is this exciting for everyday purchases but for major upcoming releases. Amazon customers will be able to get their hands on products without waiting for them to arrive in the post."
