Telltale Games The Walking Dead: The Final Season Might Not Be Dead After All

September 25, 2018 by Dennis Patrick

Another development studio is interested in finishing The Walking Dead: The Final Season?

Telltale Games recently released dreadful news to the gaming community that the studio would be closing its doors and had dropped 90% of its employee base. This also came with the announcement that their projects were being canceled so that means we’re not going to see a Game of Thrones and The Wolf Among Us season two. However, for fans who were in the middle of playing their current project, The Walking Dead: The Final Season, we may very well see this game fully launch.

At first, it looked as if Telltale Games would only release the second episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season before officially canning the game. That would leave players upset after spending for the full four-episode season video game release. Not to mention that the whole journey we’ve been following Clementine on for years now would not receive its intended ending. After all, Telltale Games did mention prior to the season release that this installment would close the narrative journey of Clementine, a character we’ve been watching over since 2012.

However, with that said, it does appear that this game may continue development according to a recent tweet made by Telltale Games who had stated that there are industry partners who have stepped up and expressed an interest in bringing out the last two episodes of the video game. Unfortunately, no names were stated just who was interested in picking up the video game development but we can’t call The Walking Dead: The Final Season dead just yet.

Also according to the tweet made by Telltale Games, a future update on the game will be made soon. This is not the only project which may continue on after Telltale Game’s closure. We also recently reported on Netflix’s interest in keeping the upcoming Stranger Things video game project going under likely a new development studio.
