Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive are used to delivering unique and innovative multiplayer options, and Red Dead Redemption 2 won’t be different than the studio’s previous titles.
The studio released the game’s online features, including free roam, cooperative modes, and competitive modes. The free roam map will feature up to 16 players, where players can partake in ambient challenges and clear gang hideouts spread across the map. Competitive modes will pit players against each other, either solo or in a four-man squad. Finally, players can pair up to take part in co-op missions, such as The River, Walton’s Gold and others.
Free Roam brings the open-world experience to multiplayer for up-to-16 players, with the opportunity to form posses of up-to-8 to take on the world’s gang hideouts, ambient challenges – and each other. Free Roam also gives players a living, breathing world instead of a generic game lobby – with the freedom to roam the open expanse, hunting or creating shootouts before heading into competitive game modes – and leveling up with every major action. With each level come new avatars, outfits, mounts, playlists and challenges.
Competitive ModesRed Dead Redemption’s competitive multiplayer serves up classic multiplayer match modes with a distinctly Western twist: every match starts with players eye-to-eye in a classic showdown. Experience team-based Gang matches, Free-For-All Shootouts and classic Capture The Bag modes in specially designed locations within Red Dead Redemption’s vast and beautifully detailed open world.Co-operative ModesThe Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack features six all-new cooperative multiplayer missions to play with 2-4 players. The Co-Op Mission Pack is a completely free download now available via Xbox LIVE® (requires Xbox LIVE Gold Membership for online play) and PlayStation®Network.
