Battlefield 4 Campaign Details Surface

July 19, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Baku, Singapore and Shanghai among the locations in Battlefield 4.

In a new blog post on EA's website DICE has revealed new information about Battlefield 4's campaign.

According to the post "The world is on the brink of chaos, China is the tinderbox and you and your squad are the inadvertent spark that could ignite a global conflict. This is Battlefield 4. As Sergeant Daniel Recker, you play as a member of an elits group of unlikely heroes known as Tombstone squad, navigating the turmoil around you as you fight to save the final hope for peace."

The game begins with Recker and his team collecting intel on a defecting Russian general in Azerbaijan. However, things naturally don't go according to plan and you must fight your way out of the city of Baku "through waves of Russian troops in order to escape."

With the information you've retrieved, you discover that a Chinese admiral is planning a coup and that Moscow would support him in his plan should he act upon it.

You then head to Shanghai and must extract a group of VIPs from the city. This won't be easy, as the U.S. has been implicated in the assassination of Jin Jie, a prominent politician and voice for peace. As a result, martial law has been declared.

Once you successfully extract the team you make your way to Singapore and witness the 7th U.S. carrier group being "eradicated". With the destruction of the fleet "nothing is certain" going forward.

'Pac' and 'Irish' have also been revealed as two members of the team in Battlefield 4.
