Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut Enters Steam Greenlight

July 18, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

Maybe we should vote for Deadly Premonition on Steam, Zach?

One of the most bizarre, charming titles of the generation is finally making its way to new platforms. Although Deadly Premonition started off as a simple Xbox 360 exclusive (and a $20 one, for that record), Rising Star Games and Hidetaka 'Swery' Suehiro are sharing the love with countless new gamers on both the PS3 and PC. The Director’s Cut recently landed on Sony’s console, and now, the updated version of the cult classic can be voted on via Steam’s Greenlight service.

The open-world thriller is the Twin Peaks game you always wanted, with an added touch of Resident Evil. Mechanically, the action is below average, and the presentation won’t exactly blow you away. But the personality and winding narrative are reason enough to cast your vote on Steam.

There are also plenty of new PC-exclusive features to look forward to. Better graphics, fresh scenarios, bonus DLC, and Steam trading cards make this a pretty appealing package, and one that Rising Star Games knows the community has been asking for.

"Steam's Greenlight process is a first for Rising Star Games and there is nothing better than the cult hit, Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut, to make our mark on it," said Martin Defries, managing director & COO of Rising Star Games. "Rising Star Games is an extremely community-driven publisher and our vocal fans have been calling for a PC version of this game, so using Steam Greenlight gives those fans the chance to make a difference."

The audience is just too passionate to not let this game make it to Steam. Look for details on the date and pricing in the near future.
