Warrior hits up new promo for WWE 2K14

July 16, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Warrior joins the game as an exclusive preorder bonus.

2KGames and WWE have just announced Warrior as an exclusive preorder bonus for upcoming wrestling game WWE 2K14. Subsequently, we just received a great new promo from the man himself, which you can hit up below.

Other wrestlers confirmed  to appear in the game are cover star The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Macho Man Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, John Ryback and Dolph Ziggler.

Warrior's return is welcome, but a genuine surprise, considering his strained relationship with the WWE. He originally left the company over contract disputes and kept coming back sporadically for various reasons. The two even entered long legal disputes after Warrior registered his in-ring name as his legal name, and sought to prove ownership over aspects of his wrestling persona. In recent years, however, WWE has mellowed down in their disputes with former employees, and even set up a WWE Legends page for Warrior, and also included Warrior in the games Legends of Wrestlemania and WWE All-Stars prior to this.

Also somewhat fittingly, Warrior returns to the WWE games universe following that franchise's uncertain future after the dissolution of THQ. Both WWE and game developer Yuke's agreed to reduce their claims against THQ and dissolve their contracts immediately so that they could ease the transition to the game's new publisher, 2KGames. THQ owned Yuke's equity, and agreed to give Yuke's those shares back, and WWE also agreed to take less money so that production could continue.

If you're feeling sentimental, check out this video of all of Warrior's prior video games below.
